About Blackjack Strategy Coach
Blackjack Strategy Coach is a free, independent training site. It exists to help players learn basic strategy by playing hands and getting immediate, specific feedback, rather than by memorising a chart in isolation. No real money is wagered anywhere on the site.
The rules the trainer models
Every decision is evaluated against one fixed ruleset so feedback is never ambiguous: four decks, dealer stands on soft 17, blackjack pays 3:2, double on any two cards, double after split allowed, no surrender and no insurance. The rules reference describes each rule, and the soft 17 guide explains what changes at tables with different rules.
Where the strategy comes from
The hard, soft and pair decision matrices follow published multi-deck basic strategy for the ruleset above. The same matrices drive the in-game strategy grid, the feedback after each hand, and the printed chart, so they cannot disagree with one another.
When you deviate from the chart, the trainer estimates the expected value cost of your move against the book move by simulating the remaining hand many times from the exact cards on the table. The expected value guide explains how to read those numbers and why small per-hand differences matter over thousands of hands.
What the site is not
Basic strategy minimises the house edge; it does not remove it. The trainer and guides will not make you a winning player against the casino, and nothing here is a betting system. Please read the responsible gaming page before playing for real money anywhere.
